Trip Report: Desiree’s Visit to Villa del Palmar

Here’s another great trip report from one of our guests. Desiree and her fiancé enjoyed an awesome vacation at Villa del Palmar Beach Resort with plenty of sun, fun and, of course, tequila.

Was this your first time in Los Cabos?  

No, I have been going to Cabo for many years now. Cabo has always been our girls getaway trip. We tried to make it a yearly event, but it was more like every other year. This particular trip was a bit different, because I went with my fiancé. We are newly engaged and went to Cabo San Lucas to celebrate the first anniversary of the day we met.

What do you love about Cabo?  

Besides being absolutely beautiful, it is only a 2-hour flight for us to paradise and the people there are very warm and friendly. You have the best of both worlds in Cabo. You can choose to relax poolside or beachside, or you can take a short little walk down the beach to the beachside bars and intermix with all the fun festivities happening. There is truly never a dull moment in Cabo. You can also walk into town for some shopping, and make a pit stop at Cabo Wabo for some tequila tasting. And the best part of all this, you can walk everywhere.

What did you enjoy about Villa del Palmar?  

Our usual stay is at Villa del Arco Beach Resort, but this trip we switched it up and were pleasantly surprised with Villa del Palmar Beach Resort. The rooms are nicely sized with great balconies to relax on. We had an amazing ocean view that stretch as far as you could see. They have a couple of different pools, with waterfalls, and slides, which make it fun.  What is wonderful about this hotel is that you can swim right in front of the resort, and they have great beachside lounge chairs to enjoy with a full staff to service all your food and drink needs. The staff is very friendly and always there with whatever you need. I must add that they are so thoughtful and personal that on the day of our anniversary the manager of the hotel, whom we became acquainted with, sent over a surprise cake for my fiancé and I to enjoy! It made my day! I may add the food is absolutely phenomenal at this resort! I was blown away by how good the poolside lunch menu was. The steak tacos and guacamole are a must! The hotel also has a great gym for your use. 

Did you do any fun activities/get out and explore Cabo? If so, what were some of your faves?  

This was more of a relaxing trip for my fiancé and I, but we did do standup paddle boarding a couple of times. These boards are actually free to guests staying at Villa del Arco & Villa del Palmar, which is a plus. So we definitely enjoyed this amenity. We also took a water taxi from in front of the hotel over to Lovers Beach for a couple of hours, which is a fun change of scenery. It is a must to check out. Then one day we took a walk into town for some shopping and tequila tasting – another must. We went to Cabo Wabo, Giggling Marlin, and of course Señor Frogs. That was a fun walk home.

Would you recommend Los Cabos as a destination to your friends?  

I would most definitely recommend Los Cabos to my friends, and I do quite often. Any chance I have to go out there I call up Julie at cabovillas.com and make it happen. It is the shortest distance to paradise and always has great deals when on a budget. And in this economy, budget is key! I cannot wait for my next trip, and hope to be going out again this December.
