A Dream Escape at Villa Estero in Puerto Los Cabos

Even though I’ve been specializing in Los Cabos villa vacations for 14 years and have had the opportunity to personally experience some of the most luxurious properties in the region, sometimes a villa comes along that truly wows me with a unique ambiance, style and location. This month, I had the opportunity to enjoy some long-overdue rest and relaxation – after all, creating unforgettable vacations for my guests can be hard (and rewarding) work! What better place to kick back and soak up the sunshine than my beloved Los Cabos?

I found the perfect venue for my romantic retreat with my sweetheart George in beachfront Villa Estero – a glorious villa located in Puerto Los Cabos. Located just a short drive from charming historic San José del Cabo, this spectacular private development is one of the area’s most desired rising stars, featuring magnificent private villas, high-end hotels, pristine beaches and a state-of-the-art marina. Immediately upon arriving at the villa, we were struck by the stunning hacienda-style architecture. A tile roof, soaring ceilings and stone details create timeless elegance. Once we stepped inside, both George and I were speechless. Sophisticated custom furnishings, rich artistic accents, vibrant textiles and an expansive living area showed the thoughtful hand of a skilled designer.

The fabulous interior was a perfect complement to the breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez awaiting us on the private pool terrace. Combining shaded lounge areas with one of the most beautiful beachfront swimming pools I’ve ever seen, the outdoor areas at Villa Estero offered everything we needed to enjoy countless hours enjoying the perfect weather of Baja Sur. We took full advantage of the shaded patio dining areas, comfortable lounge chairs, large jacuzzi, sparkling swimming pool (complete with a waterfall) and cozy hammock. We loved the location of the villa just steps to the warm sands and we took many strolls on the inviting beach as we admired gorgeous views of the coastline.

While Villa Estero felt wonderfully tranquil and remote, it was within easy access of some excellent dining. We enjoyed a great meal at Buzzard’s – a quirky bar and grill that has a wonderful laid-back vibe and is located directly on the sand in the La Laguna area. We also had some excellent ceviche and fish tacos at The Container, an excellent, casual eatery overlooking the beautiful Puerto Los Cabos Marina. For a bit of culture, we were able to easily drive into charming San José del Cabo to check out the latest offerings in the numerous art galleries and boutiques.

Some of the most memorable dining we experienced during our stay happened to take place right at Villa Estero. The talented culinary team of Eat Cabo created a customized in-villa dining experience just for us. We enjoyed fine cuisine on our terrace at sunset, accompanied by an excellent wine and the friendly service of their staff. Eat Cabo offers great all-inclusive dining packages for our villa guests, and I was thrilled to once again personally enjoy their wonderful food.

In addition to our in-villa dining, we were treated to an incredible spa day at Villa Estero provided by the incomparable team of Suzanne Morel Face & Body Care. Their team came to our villa to treat us to soothing massages and pedicures – all without having to leave the comfort and privacy of our wonderful oasis.

While it was just the two of us on this vacation at Villa Estero, I would highly recommend this villa for families and groups seeking a luxury getaway in Los Cabos. This 5-bedroom villa offers 5,743 square feet of indoor living areas and 5,155 square feet of terraces and patios. We spent our final morning before leaving to catch our flight gazing at the brilliant turquoise colors of the Sea of Cortez and feeling incredibly grateful that we were able to experience this one-of-a-kind sanctuary.
